Confessions of a Window washer-II
Am back, The window washer is back… Blame that job for my not so frequent blogging which I would have preferred.
Never mind, I have some energy and time to sit and blog, The tuckers which are pain in the ass are kinda fine, after all “All it matters is the company you are with”, I have found a great friend from a far-off land, and meeting new people is always fun. So this not so mentally engaging job have got me institutionalized, a term used by Red in “Shawshank Redemption”. When we are in good company, even hell is not that hellish, So to get used to this laborious, monotonous job, we-window washing crew gets into conversations, stupid questions, quizzes or may be even even about corruption, adventure, star wars, games, expeditions, lives and of course about girls walking next to us in with an amused look.
BTW, The campus tour is going pretty well, I can see geological samples, bones, hawks, owls, exotic stones and wonderful portraits, posters and paintings people have adorned their offices and hallway with. Sometimes you can listen to lectures, discussions about philosophy, psychology and much more.
Another thing is the amazing view of Gallatin national forest and Bridger mountains from the top of various buildings and also about the bird-eye view of the campus and all those graduate housing which are not so pretty from the ground are really organized and pretty from the sky, Also on one day, I got to see the beautiful view of Tobacco roots mountains from the tallest building in campus. The snow clad peaks were a treat for the eyes from the uppermost floor with green grass and blue sky to add en extra effect.
Then to pass time, You get to discuss your hiking experience, plan future European tours, dream about Latin American trips or even imagine about running away to Vegas where life is waiting. Also you get to brush up your Hindi movie knowledge, you get to know about the east European attitude towards communism, Americas and the world. You know there is more to Russia than west Russia, you get to know many more interesting things. you will know what colleagues stand for, you get to know what work place ethics are. These stuff, I don’t think one can find in a cubicle in a multi-storey building, unless you are an employee on a shop floor or a window washer..!
And apart from all this, I get a good pay and good habits like getting up early, taking care of health by good physical workout.
Am enjoying, After all its in the perception..!
UPDATE: I had written and was waiting for the picture to post it to the blog, But I didn’t get it until now. But, by this time, I had quit the job… :( Had enough..! Let me try other stuff..
